Description
McIntosh MC240 Stereo Tube Power Amplifier. This amp
is in excellent operating and cosmetic condition. I
listened to it for a couple hours, and I was
pleasantly surprised at how good it sounded. Two of
the GE 6L6GC tubes are NOS and the other two are a
strong used pair. The three Telefunken 12AX7A / ECC83
tubes have ribbed plates and embossed diamonds on the
bottoms. The two NOS Amperex 12AU7A / ECC82 tubes have
small plates and are marked "Made in Germany". The two
NOS RCA 12BH7A tubes have gray plates. All of the
lettering is intact on the top and back sides of the
amp. This is the earliest version of the MC240 that
has two octal sockets on the face. Later versions only
have one octal socket on the face.
